Raymond Melbourne Graham Day
It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Raymond, a life member of Dunvant Male Choir.
Raymond started his working life as a messenger for the Great Western Railway at Nant-y-moel, taking telegraph messages from the station to the village.
Serving as a dispatch rider in the Second World War, he later became a military policeman. On returning to civilian life, he became a police officer with South Wales Police rising to the rank of Sergeant.
On his retirement he joined the Choir and was an accomplished singer and loyal member respected by all who met him for his calm and friendly manner.
Our sympathies go to his son Andrew.
